Referee Assignments: Click here for a list of referee assignments. The name of the coach who will fulfill the Referee Assignment must be provided by the assigned program to the Race Organizer at least 3 days before a race. If a program is unable to fulfill its obligation it is that program's responsibility to find a substitute and to notify the Race Organizer of the change. Only currently qualified referees may be named.

Coaches Council Meetings:
All Meetings begin at 7:00 PM and are held at the New Hampton School in the Moore Center.

The Franconia Ski Club/Holderness Eastern Alpine Team is accepting resumes for openings in the following areas for the 2010/2011 season: 

·       BWL Weekend staff

·       JIII Assistant Coach/weekend staff

·       JI/II Assistant Coach (fulltime position)

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a coach to work within a well established and highly successful program. Our coaches must be able to manage athletes that cover the entire spectrum of development, from weekend skiers to elite athletes.  Regional travel will be required and summer camp opportunities will be available at all levels.

USSA Job Description

Position:          Eastern Region Education and Athletic Director

Department:   

          The Eastern Alpine Competition Department manages the implementation of competition ladder programs for Eastern USSA members. USSA’s Competition staff is responsible for delivery of alpine programs to member athletes, officials, coaches and clubs.

Position:

            The Eastern Region Education and Athletic Director will deliver information and tools to states and clubs to enhance their ability to provide the best possible experience for young athletes, parents and volunteers. They must work with the Eastern Development Committee to put together a long term plan on how to develop more complete ski racers in the future. Approximately half of the focus is working with states, clubs, academies, and universities in the region to assist them adhere to the USSA and Regional philosophies regarding program content, and education. The Alpine Training System should be the model used. The remaining half of the focus will be assuming a leadership role in regional preparation, and competition projects. The person will also oversee the activities of the Regional Youth and Development Manager, as well as any Regional Coaches that are hired. Everyone needs to spearhead a push to move the region towards cooperation and excellence.

Specific Responsibilities:

   Programs: State program visits is a priority of the Education and Athletic Director. The goals of each visit will include; reviewing the USSA Alpine Training System with coaches and state leaders, and how it fits into the USSA technical and tactical progressions. Club and Parent education must also be included.

The Regional Education and Athletic Director will oversee the content and staffing of all regional projects. They will appoint a project leader to run each project that will oversee all aspects of the trip. Support for those projects from other regional staff will be available as time allows

National: Create and Distribute information and tools to clubs showing best practices. Maintain and update web based information for same. Work with the education department to ensure all information is current and in line with their materials.

Regional: Attend and present at regional, state and club seminars. Utilize the states as appropriate in delivering information. Visit Eastern clubs as time allows. Oversee the content of all Regional training projects, to ensure that all competencies are met through the process from J4’s to senior athletes.

              Membership Contact – Provide a high-level presence for Eastern USSA members as appropriate at Youth, Regional, National events, meetings and projects.

              Education – Work with the USSA Education Department to oversee all Education in the region. The Regional Education and Athletic Director will work closely with the Eastern Youth & Development Manager to work with states and councils to develop their training camps to ensure that the content provided is consistent with that of USSA.

             Membership Communication – Develop and maintain programs to communicate information to members and clubs such as e-newsletters, competition guides, web sites, and other communications tools.

 Reporting Structure

          The position reports directly to the Eastern Alpine Competition Director, with continuous contact with the Eastern Development and Children's Committees. The position also works closely with the USSA Education Department.

 Evaluation

        Performance will be evaluated on the leadership shown in the region. How receptive the region is in incorporating the USSA Alpine Training System, as well as getting the programs in the region to work together, are two important markers. Also evaluated will be the quality and content of the state and club visitations, as well as the materials development for that purpose.

 Background

        The position requires a person who has a good understanding of competition programs for all ages, strong organizational skills, and a strong ability to interact with staff and volunteers. Strong computer skills are a must.

We are currently looking to fill the open position of Alpine Race Director to oversee our program which runs from mid-November through early April.

 Description of Responsibilities

The Alpine Race Director (ARD) is the Head Alpine Race Coach, and is directly responsible for the activities of the entire LRT coaching staff.  The individual in this role is responsible for the creation, management and administration of the team’s race curriculum and is responsible for recruiting, managing and retaining the appropriate number of qualified coaches for our six age groups (JVI-JI).  The ARD is responsible for carrying out the policies and decisions of the LRT board of directors and reports directly to the LRT board president and acts as an ex-officio member of the eight member board of directors.
