Committee Reports:

A.C.C.:                        (Bev;for Craig Bowden) This was a good year. We have a very cooperative group of coaches. We filled our quota and then some for FIS events this season. Eastern meetings are April 29th and April 30th at the OTC in Lake Placid. A NHARA ACC is scheduled for April 25th at Holderness, 7:00 pm. Agenda will address review of the season, speed issues, selection criteria and additional issues that may come up.

Seed Review:             Development Team: a number of racers fell below the 60 point cut-off. Should they be comped? Should the top 5 race entries be free? The latter would produce too many free entries. Perhaps we need to take a look at the point cut-off number and adjust it according.

Participation by college athletes was down some this year. Are the NCAA rules affecting participation? Are night races easier to attend for these racers? Should we be scheduling more night races?

Alpine Officials:         Officials updating information is due to Ted now. There are 4 new TD candidates in NH. There is AO education in progress all the time. There were no protests relating to the ski length/ski radius rules mandatory this season.

Since our sport is an evolving process and the rules change, the updating of NHARA referees will a regular item at the fall Coaches’ Council meeting from now on.

Review/Appeal:          Dan (for Alex) No issues.

Racer Support:           There have been no requests yet. A large number of requests are expected due to the many out-of-state events attended by our athletes. The monies are dispensed in late May.

Coaches Council:       (Dan)   There is a Coaches’ Council scheduled for Monday, April 18th at New Hampton School. This meeting will address BWL restructuring possibilities, speed issues and a number of issues submitted by Georg. The committee is still looking for a chairperson. Drew Craig has expressed interest, but is not willing to commit to the job at this time.

Children’s Racing:     There have been the usual bumps in the road for Children’s Racing. Our athletes are still competitive though the results are not quite as strong as in other years. Two of our J4s went to the Whistler Cup. The top boy and girl at the J3 Olympics are NHARA athletes. A CRC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4th at St. Paul’s School 7:00 pm.

            Adaptive:                    No report.

            Masters:                     No report.

Banquet:                    (Jeff for Marilyn Leaman) A deposit has been at the WV Conference Center made for next season’s dinner (December 3rd, 2005).  A $20 increase is estimated for next season. Ace Eaton may be a potential speaker. Marilyn will continue as Banquet Chairperson.

Handbook:                  Providing updated Handbooks for posting on the website works out well. Next year’s handbook will continue to be revamped in order to provide a more reliable resource for our membership. A request was made to put the RA phone numbers back in the book. They were removed because of so many inaccuracies at the time of submission to the printer. These numbers were placed on the website and updated throughout the season. There is a need for printed copy as well. A possible solution is to add an insert to the Handbook with the most up-to-date information.

1500 handbooks appear to be the right number to publish; to be the same for 2005-2006. The group suggested lilac (lavender) for a cover color.

Printing costs and mailing costs are expected to rise next season. Printing costs rise approximately 10% each year.

            Web Site:                    Great job, Jack!

            Industry Rep:  No report

Ski NH Liaison:         Ski areas are still struggling with what NHARA is all about. Is there anything NHARA can do to help educate in this regard? Like a brochure? Also, in general, the ski areas welcome night racing during the week. Weekend racing is becoming onerous due to overcrowding and lack of parking space.

Old Business:

There was a brief discussion regarding trashing in ski area lunchrooms and how this
can be addressed. Wildcat and the Skiway were the primary affected sites this year.
